Then we drive north of Canberra to see some special animals on a farm. We will have a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon there, taking our time to enjoy the farm. We then drive back to Canberra to stay the night.”
“Sounds great Will, are we going soon?” Sebastian chirped with a smile whilst hopping up and down with excitement. Will smiled at Sebastian and said “yes, let’s get into the car as I see mum and dad walking there now. Fly up and sit on my shoulder Sebastian.” They settled in the back of the car, with Will’s mum and dad sitting comfortably in the front.
Off they drove to start their adventures. Sebastian looked at Will’s parents and whispered to Will “what should I call your mum and dad Will?”
Will’s mum overheard Sebastian’s whisper, so she turned her head around to face the back seats and said “you are such a cute and polite little sparrow Sebastian, I would be proud if you called us Auntie and Uncle”. “Oh, thank you” chirped Sebastian with wet eyes “you are so kind, thank you Auntie and Uncle.”
The tan coloured animal responded to Sebastian and said “Hello little sparrow, I am Alice Alpaca, and this is my friend Arnold Alpaca. Watch out for Arnold, he likes to spit, and he can spit a long way. He thinks it is funny and I keep telling him it isn’t a nice thing to do, but he won’t stop.”
“Hello Alice and Arnold,’ chirped Sebastian, “so nice to meet you, do you live here?” “Yes, we do, with all the other alpacas in this field. The farmer looks after us well and when it starts to get warm, he cuts our hair short so we are more comfortable.” said Alice.
Will was watching Arnold carefully and saw a glint in his eye that he didn’t feel comfortable about. “Careful Sebastian,” whispered Will, “I think Arnold is up to something, he’s making funny noises in his throat.”
Just as Will finished his sentence, he heard a loud spitting noise and then a shriek from Sebastian who was falling off Will’s shoulder. “Oh my,” said Will trying not to laugh as he looked down at Sebastian lying on the grass. Sebastian was soaked from his head to his claws!
Trying to recover from the shock, Sebastian let out a feeble chirp. ”Will, Arnold spat at me and I am drenched.”

Sebastian is a young chick who has a thirst for discovering new and exciting people, places, and animals. In this, his third book of adventures, Sebastian has a wonderful time on a holiday with his friend Will and Will’s parents.

“Hi Mum, I’m home!” chirped Sebastian loudly when he arrived at the big branch where their nest was.
“Welcome home Sebastian,” Sally chirped happily and gave him a hug. Simon and Steven and Susie and Sheila were all there on the branch as well as Sam, their dad. “Oh tell us what you have been doing,” chirped his brothers. “Oh yes please tell,” added his sisters, whilst Sam just looked down his beak at Sebastian.
“Oh, I have had such an adventure,” chirped Sebastian. “I saw big colourful and very noisy birds, a pink pig with a squiggly tail and a boy with a toy boat. Oh the boat was so wonderful. It had a fisherman and lots of fishing gear in it and the boy was playing with it in a pond. Mum and Dad, I want to go and play with the boy and his boat tomorrow, can I please, can I?”
Sally and Sam looked at each other and both said at the same time, “Only if it is not too far away.” Sebastian was so happy. “It is close as it is in the next garden and I promise not to be away for too long,” he chirped with glee.

After breakfast the next day, they left the harbour and set course for Eden. Will and Sebastian settled on the deck to watch the sea and shoreline. Will suddenly stood up and shouted “Look Sebastian, a pod of dolphins swimming alongside the ship!”
“Wowee!” shrieked Sebastian, “look at them leap in the air, they are so graceful!”
One of the dolphins came closer to the ship and balanced on his tail in the water. He was looking straight at little Sebastian. “Hello” chirped Sebastian “I am Sebastian Sparrow and you look so wonderful swimming with your friends”.
”Hello Sebastian, I am Desmond Dolphin and very pleased to meet you. My friends and I will put on a show for you as we love to swim and do acrobatics.”
With that he re-joined the other dolphins and they swam in formation alongside the ship.
They jumped high in the air and back into the water again, then were swimming along upright powered by their tails.
“They look like they are smiling Will, and they are so clever. How special, our own show!” Sebastian chirped in wonder.
“Yes Sebastian, we have been very lucky to see this, they are wonderful animals” said Will.
